Zodiacstars

Size: 158 x 158 cm (62" x 62")

This wall quilt consists of 12 "Zodiacstar" blocks of 25 x 25 cm (10" x 10")
and 32 smaller "starlets" of 12,5 x 12,5 cm (5" x 5")
11 big squares of 25 x 25 cm (10" x 10") and
20 small squares of 12,5 x 12,5 cm (5" x 5").

Each star has one symbol of the zodiac.
Sometimes they are a bit hidden, so on your first view maybe you will see only nice stars.
So you can enjoy this quilt anyways if you aren't interested in astrology!

I don't believe that the position of the planets had an influence of our character... but I loved it to think about the people which are born in the sign of lion, pisces, aquarius and so on which are important in my life while I was sewing their zodiac blocks. :-)

So it's a very personal quilt for me and we will find a place for it... even when there are not many free walls in our house, this one will hang!

Fabric requirement:
Midnight blue star fabric for the background: 4 meters (about 4.4 yard)

The fabric requirement is different, it depends on how economical you will sew.
I bought 4 meters and sewed some blocks twice but it was enough.
Propably less would be enough too... but I recommend to buy the whole 4 meters of a fabric which you like so much, that it won't be a problem if there will be a bit of fabric left! :-)

You can use scraps for the zodiacstars or about 15 cm (6") of each color from edge to edge.

The pattern for the starlet will be available the whole year, so you can sew two or three of them when you have fabric left.

The quilt starts with the actual zodiac symbol. In january it will be capricorn.
